404 FOUND

The web is hiding something.

Somewhere inside this website are broken interfaces, suspicious pixels, strange behaviours, hidden messages and things that probably shouldn't exist.

Your mission? Find them. Report them. Climb the board.

Do not trust everything you see.

The number of hidden discoveries is classified.

Ground rules

This website is intentionally suspicious.

Inspect Everything

Your browser knows more than the page shows. It always has.

Break Things

Resize it. Click things twice. Press strange keys. Try unexpected inputs.

Think Like a Developer

A bug isn't merely something broken. It's something behaving differently from what should logically happen.

Report What You Find

Describe the problem clearly enough that another developer could reproduce it.

Why we are doing this

Why are we making you hunt bugs?

Because real software engineers spend a surprising amount of time asking “why is this doing that?”

Building websites teaches you how things should work. Debugging teaches you how they actually work.

Through 404 FOUND we want you to experience the browser from the other side: inspecting interfaces, reading HTML you did not write, experimenting with CSS, investigating JavaScript, watching requests, and learning how developers systematically reproduce a problem instead of guessing at it.

You will not be taught any of this. You will find it.

What you will end up knowing

  • DOM inspection
  • CSS specificity
  • stacking contexts
  • media queries
  • event listeners
  • localStorage
  • sessionStorage
  • cookies & flags
  • HTTP status codes
  • response headers
  • query vs fragment
  • caching
  • accessible names
  • focus order
  • reproduction steps
  • edge cases

Every verified discovery unlocks an explanation of what you found, why it happened, how a developer would debug it, and how it connects to a real interview question.

PitchX — the startup challenge

Same login, separate event. Think it. Test it. Build it. Pitch it. Form a team, find a problem worth solving, test it on real students, build something, and pitch it to a panel.

Doing one costs you nothing in the other. The hunt's clock does not run while you are in PitchX, and nothing in PitchX touches your XP or your place on the leaderboard.

An educational simulation. No real money, equity or investment is involved, and Shark Coins have no monetary value.

Some pages appear normal.
They are lying.
